Workshop on "Handle"

Some pictures

Two club members, Mark Keshishian and John Howe, gave a workshop on “handle:” how to describe how a given rug feels to us, and why it feels that way.

The following link will take you inside this workshop, concretely. http://raymondj.wordpress.com/2012/08/31/a-workshop-on-handle/

You will not, of course, be able to actually feel the rugs as the participants did, but you can use the resource reading and the worksheet to conduct your own explorations of the handle of rugs and textiles that you own.

This post appears on Eccentric Wefts, http://raymondj.wordpress.com/ one of two blogs John writes on rugs and other textiles,

The other blog, Textiles and Text, http://rjohnhowe.wordpress.com/ is exclusively devoted to providing virtual versions of some Textile Museum Rug and Textile Appreciation Morning programs.
